Frugality is not the point

From me

You don't win a prize for being the most frugal person in the room.

Money is just a tool to solve problems in your life. Treating frugality as the goal itself might let you win the savings game, but you lose the broader game of living well.

The point was never to spend as little as possible. It was to get the highest return from every dollar across a lifetime.

The irony is, when you make that the goal instead, it can still look very much like frugality on the outside. Because when you question what you actually want, you end up rejecting 80% of what society tells you to buy. You drive older cars, ignore the latest trends, and skip status symbols, all without a feeling of deprivation. What appears like frugality isn’t self-restraint but clarity on what your money is actually for.
